Accommodation

Hi All,

Hope your New Year has got off to a great start!

Glad to hear that you all got your invites and that so many Australians are coming. This means a lot to both of us.

For our latest installment we just wanted to give you an overview of the deals we have negotiated at the wedding venue, Rosleague Manor Hotel in Letterfrack and Foyles, its sister hotel in Clifden (about 15minutes drive away)

These hotels have been owned and run by the Foyle family for three generations and are now run by brothers Mark and Stephen, who we can confirm have hospitality in their blood.

Rosleague Manor
This is a 200year old country house that feels more like a home than a hotel. Nestled in the heart of the Connemara it has stunning views of Ballinakill Bay. It is splendidly Irish and we will have exclusive use of it on the big day.

It also won Irish Hotel of the Year in 2009. check it out for yourself at: www.rosleague.com

Here are the rates we’ve negotiated:
• €175 per person for two nights, two breakfasts and one dinner
• €145 per person if you choose not to have the dinner
• €75 per person if you only wish to stay one night (includes breakfast)

* It’s important to note that as there is another wedding booked for that weekend, we will need to check out the day after the wedding, Friday, 17th September.

To book contact Mark Foyle directly at info@rosleague.com (+353 (0) 95-41101) and mention that you are a guest for our wedding. If you try to book online it will report that the hotel is booked out!

Foyle’s Hotel
Is a charming hotel in it’s own right, complete with restaurant, bar and outdoor patio. It is located in picturesque town of Clifden, which has a number of pubs, cafes and tourist shops. It offers a great base for touring the Connemara region. This is where you would want to get your hair done ladies!

Check it out for yourselves - www.foyleshotel.com

Here are the rates we’ve negotiated which all include breakfast:
• €45 per person for one night
• €80 per person for two nights – i.e. 15th & 16th September

Extra nights

• €35 per person per night – i.e. 13th & 14th September
• €50 per person per night - i.e. 17th & 18th September

Transport to and from the wedding
A free mini-bus will be provided once we have 20 guests staying at Foyles. On the day of the wedding, the bus will transport our guests from Foyles to Rosleague Manor in time for the ceremony at 3pm. It will also offer a shuttle service that will return guests to Foyles, starting from 12.30am until late.
We think the mini-bus service is a real bonus as there is only one taxi covering the whole area!

To book you can email Stephen Foyle directly - info@foyleshotel.com (+ 353 95 21801) and again mention that you are guest of our wedding.

When to book
There is a big art fair being held in Clifden during the week of the wedding. Accommodation in the area tends to get booked out early so we recommend booking your rooms as soon as you know where you’d like to stay.

There are alternative accommodation options in the area however we feel that these two are the most convenient for our guests.

Happy planning

Welcome!

Hi All

We thought we would use this blog to keep you informed about the details of the wedding: accommodation, things to do in Ireland, anything really that can help make your visit easier.

Feel free to post comments and ask questions. This site is for you. We'll also keep you updated on how things are going with us.

We are getting excited as the big day draws near. We do so hope that everyone can make it and use it as a great excuse to visit not only Ireland but our European neighbours.

Rosleague is a beautiful 19th century country manor on the west coast of Ireland. It's in the heart of the wilds of the Connemara countryside, snuggled on the shores of Ballinakill Bay (means town of the church bay) on 30 acres of private land. It is just 15 minutes from the buzzing town of Clifden, which is famous for its traditional Irish music sessions.

The manor house is ours for the day and is where we will be having both the ceremony and reception.

Check it out for yourselves at:

http://www.rosleague.com/

To get a feel for where it is we have marked it on Google Maps. (Cut and paste the below URL into your browser).

Check back in at the end of January for more details on the cheap rates and packages we have negotiated for Rosleague, a nearby hotel and for transport to and from the event.

Merry Christmas everyone and a Happy New Year.

Love

Rene and Frank
